The Austrian Embassy, in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Foundation, hosted an expert panel discussion on "Transatlantic Approaches to AI Regulation in Times of Great Power Competition" on June 13, 2023.

Speakers included Molly Montgomery, Director of Policy at Meta and former Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of State, Rob Atkinson, founder and president of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), and Peter Fatelnig, Head of Digital at the Delegation of the European Commission in the United States.

The event was moderated by Evi Fuelle of credo ai and was attended by about 50 participants. The discussion focused on a comparative analysis of regulatory and transparency efforts (legally binding or voluntary) regarding AI risks in the United States and the EU.
