Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Hosts Round-table Event in San Francisco
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recently organized a significant one-day round-table event on the B-Tech Project in the vibrant city of San Francisco on June 14, 2013.
The B-Tech Project provides authoritative guidance and resources for implementing the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) in the technology space. In 2019, UN Human Rights launched the project after consultations with civil society, business, States, and other experts about the scope of the B-Tech Project.
The event aligned with the "Vienna + 30" initiative led by the OHCHR, which aimed to highlight Austria's dedicated work in the field of human rights and technology within the Human Rights Council. By contextualizing the round-table within this broader framework, the event sought to emphasize the ongoing efforts to advance human rights in the digital age.
