The Austrian Cultural Forum New York presents Siolence, an exhibition that explores the oppressive silence surrounding violence against women. Created by Soroptimist Austria in collaboration with BBDO Vienna, the exhibition offers a striking visual narrative by internationally renowned photographer Elfie Semotan. Through carefully staged silence, Siolence highlights the suffering of victims and challenges the societal tendency to look away.

The exhibition opens on March 12, 2025, coinciding with the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the rights of women. A special opening event on March 12 will feature a panel discussion on the exhibition and Austria’s commitment to women’s rights.

When: March 12 – March 28, 2025, Monday to Friday from 2 pm – 6 pm
Where: 11th floor of the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, 11 East 52nd Street, New York
