On December 12th, 2022, Director of the Press and Information Service Finja Draxler and Congressional Liasion Officer Kathrin Seel visited Sousa Middle School (https://www.sousacobras.org/school), the Embassy’s partner school within the Embassy Adoption Program. They introduced students to Austria, including its geography and the arts. The lesson ended in a Christmas spirit, the story of the Krampus was told, and the popular Austrian Christmas carol Silent Night was played as well. Both students and diplomats had a great time, thank you for having us!

Organized through DC Public Schools, The Embassy Adoption Program is a global education program that provides 5th and 6th grade students the unique opportunity to expand their global awareness through direct interactions with diplomats from around the world during the academic year.
