Ambassador Petra Schneebauer visited Ohio from May 21-23, 2024. In Columbus, she met with Governor Mike DeWine to discuss the strong economic ties between Austria and Ohio and the expansion of the state's apprenticeship system, which is strongly supported by Austrian subsidiaries.

In New Albany, the Ambassador met with local officials and toured the Intel construction site, one of the largest semiconductor manufacturing investments currently underway in the United States. She also visited the state-of-the-art production facilities of Austrian subsidiaries Welser Profile North America in Valley City and Ebner Furnaces in Wadsworth.

Her trip concluded in Cleveland with a tour of the INTRO Cleveland Building, which at the time of construction in 2020 was the largest solid wood construction project in the United States. The mass timber elements for this nine-story complex were prefabricated in Austria and shipped to Cleveland by Binderholz.
