New Austrian Government Sworn In

On March 3, 2025, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen swore in a new Austrian Federal Government formed by the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP), the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) and the NEOS.
This is the first time that Austria is governed by a three-party coalition. The new Government is led by Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker from the ÖVP. Andreas Babler from the SPÖ was appointed Vice Chancellor. Beate Meinl-Reisinger from the NEOS was appointed Federal Minister for European and International Affairs.
