Railway Day USA Workshop at the Austrian Embassy

On 9 June 2022, the Austrian Embassy hosted a “Railway Day USA” conference, which focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the US rail sector in light of the infrastructure package recently passed by congress. The event was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Germany, the Embassy of Switzerland, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, and the Austrian Rail Industry Association; it also featured the representatives of approximately 30 companies from the DACH region (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) that operate in the US rail sector.

The Railway Day USA event opened with a workshop on the US infrastructure package as well as field-specific briefings and continued with a panel discussion on future developments in the rail sector that featured short presentations from the representatives from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. In addition to the DACH region industry representatives, US politicians and Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner were in attendance, offering both networking opportunities and useful information regarding developments and investments in the US rail sector.
