For this week's #WahrzeichenWednesday we are heading back to Tyrol, specifically the Gschlößtal valley in the somewhat isolated and difficult-to-reach #Osttirol region. The Gschlössbach river (pictured here) runs through the valley between the alpine villages #Almsiedlungen Innergschlöß and Außergschlöß.
Along the path between the two villages is the unique Gschlößtal #Felsenkapelle (see photos 2 and 3), the valley's small chapel carved right out of a giant boulder. It was slowly constructed between 1870 and 1880 after the original chapel, built in 1688, was twice destroyed by avalanches. It is now a local #Wahrzeichen and interesting stop on your next hike in the beautiful #Gschlößtal valley.
