The Embassy and AJC Celebrate Hanukkah Together in DC

On December 20, 2022, the Embassy of Austria in Washington, DC welcomed representatives from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) for the 12th annual Hanukkah celebration at the Embassy. After a brief welcome by Chargé d’affaires Guenther Salzmann and Director of the Austrian Press and Information Service Finja Draxler, AJC Washington President Linda Rosenzweig spoke about the AJC and Hanukkah more generally. Then, following the blessing and the lighting of the menorahs, led by AJC regional director Alan Ronkin, local DC musicians Hadriel Dayanim and Aaron Maloneled led in singing Moaz Tzur and Hanukkah, O Hanukkah. U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt was also present. We thank the AJC for joining us and wish a Happy Hanukkah to everyone celebrating!
