Pre-Oscar Party at Villa Aurora

The annual Pre-Oscar Party at Villa Aurora/Los Angeles returned after a “Covid-break,” taking place on Saturday, March 11, 2023 – one day prior to the 95th Academy Awards - to celebrate this year’s German, Austrian, and Czech Academy Award nominees!
In addition to the nomination of Monika Willi in the category for Best Film Editing for her work in the musical drama TÁR, the following Austrians were represented:
Wiener Burgtheater actor Felix Kammerer starred in the German film All Quiet On The Western Front. The film won an astounding four Academy Awards: Best International Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Production Design.

Los Angeles-based Austrian designer Julia Körner collaborated with Academy Award winner Ruth E. Carter for Best Costume Design on the design and production of the 3D printed crown in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
And last but not least, Tyrolean cinematographer Niki Waltl worked on the documentary Navalny, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film.
