The Salzburg Festival In Washington, DC

Together with the Salzburg Festival, the Embassy hosted many distinguished guests for a presentation of one of the world’s most important festivals for classical music and performing arts.
After a warm welcome by Ambassador Petra Schneebauer, the Deputy Governor of the State of Salzburg, Stefan Schnöll emphasized the cultural significance of Salzburg and the Salzburg Festival. Kristina Hammer, President of the Festival, followed to highlighted the Festival’s rich history.
A musical surprise by the American bass-baritone Joseph Parrish, who made his Salzburg Festival debut this year and is part of its Young Singers Project, rounded of the celebration. The evening concluded with a reception where our guests enjoyed Austrian delicacies and wine.
The Salzburg Festival 2025 program will be presented on December 3, 2024 introducing a season full of fascinating operas, theater plays and concerts.
