10th SelectUSA Investment Summit: Strengthening Austrian-American Economic Ties.

The 10th SelectUSA Investment Summit took place just outside Washington, DC from June 23 - 26, 2024. Austria was prominently represented by an 18-member business delegation, facilitated by the U.S. Embassy in Vienna. This diverse group included major Austrian companies such as OMV, Greiner Packaging, as well as several successful small and medium-sized enterprises.

"The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the premier event when it comes to foreign direct investment in the United States, highlighting everything America has to offer," said Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. She emphasized that the Department of Commerce's SelectUSA program is critical to the Biden-Harris Administration's efforts to attract investment, particularly in critical sectors such as semiconductors and clean energy.

A notable highlight of this year's Summit was Beatrix Praeceptor, CEO of Austria’s Greiner Packaging, who joined high-level representatives for a panel discussion on Women in Manufacturing. This event underscored the crucial contributions of women to the manufacturing sector and highlighted effective strategies for promoting and sustaining gender diversity within the industry.

In conjunction with the Summit, Ambassador Petra Schneebauer hosted a ReFocus Austria networking reception at the Austrian Residence, which provided an excellent platform for interaction and collaboration between the Austrian delegation and key federal and state officials.
