Celebrating 80 Years of Friendship!

Consul General Helene Steinhäusl recently joined the Austro-American Association of Boston to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: the 80th anniversary of the Association. With culinary and musical tributes to Austria, the event was attended by around 50 people from different places throughout New England.

Founded in 1944, during the darkest chapter of Austrian history, the Austro-American Association of Boston has since brought the two sides of the Atlantic ever closer together. Through numerous cultural and social events - be it concerts, films, lectures or “Heurigen” and “Stammtische” - during the past decades the Association has contributed immensely to a better mutual understanding between Austrians and Americans.

We especially would like to thank President Traudwig Schieber-Acker for her decades-long commitment to the Association, as well as the Board of directors and all members, for their contribution and tireless efforts to maintain a strong relationship with Austria.
