Austrian Cadets at West Point
For more than ten years, the Austrian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt and the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY have been conducting a semester long exchange program of six cadets each.

October 29-31, 2022, Austrian State Secretary Florian Tursky visited New York, NY. There he met with United Nations Envoy on Technology Amandeep Singh Gill on October 31.

Austrian Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal in Washington, DC
Austrian Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal visited Washington, DC between October 30 and November 1, 2022. On October 31, Secretary-General Launsky-Tieffenthal met with Special-Envoy for Holocaust Issues Ellen Germain as well as the American Jewish Committee to discuss Holocaust education and the fight against anti-Semitism.


Austrian Start-Up Landing Zone in San Francisco
Nine Austrian startups were selected to venture out on a unique journey to be challenged, accelerated, and pushed beyond their limits in a four week long GoUSA (formerly GoSiliconValley) Startup Landing Zone program in San Francisco throughout the month of October at Open Austria, the joint office of the Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

Austrian Minister of Energy Visits Washington and Pittsburgh, Meets with U.S. Counterparts
Austrian Minister of Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology Leonore Gewessler traveled to Washington, DC for meetings with her bilateral counterparts on September 19-20, 2022. In Washington, she met with Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Allison Clements and U.S. Department of Energy Deputy Secretary David Turk. That same day she also met with Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank Axel van Trostsenburg and the Vice President for Sustainable Development Jürgen Vögele.

Dr. Jonathan Singerton Presents New Book, “The American Revolution and the Habsburg Monarchy”
On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Dr. Jonathan Singerton (University of Innsbruck) presented highlights from his new book on the responses and reactions within the Habsburg Monarchy to the American Revolution. The talk took place in the atrium of the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC.
ReFocus Austria at the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit
Each June, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration organizes an investment summit to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States. Bringing together investors, companies, and government officials, it provides ample opportunities to network—also for the Austrian companies participating at this year’s SelectUSA Summit in National Harbor, MD on 26-29 June, 2022.

On 9 June 2022, the Austrian Embassy hosted a “Railway Day USA” conference, which focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the US rail sector in light of the infrastructure package recently passed by Congress.
